Tyreek Hill scores an 80-yard touchdown and celebrates with a handcuff gesture following his pre-game detainment

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill nodded to his Sept. 8 detainment with a unique celebration following an 80-yard touchdown catch.

Just hours after being detained by police,Hill appeared in high spirits during theDolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After scoring an 80-yard touchdown, the 30-year-old NFL star marked the moment with a playful end-zone celebration. Hill mimicked being handcuffed while teammate Jaylen Waddle pretended to be a police officer cuffing him, walking along the wall of fans with his hands behind his back, reenacting his earlier experience that morning.
The unusual end-zone celebration occurred in the third quarter of the home game, which the Dolphins won 20-17 at Hard Rock Stadium— just a block away from where Tyreek Hill had been detained earlier that day.

Fans were concerned that the star receiver might miss the game after videos surfaced on social media showing Hill lying face-down on the ground, handcuffed, and surrounded by four Miami-Dade police officers. However, the team later clarified that Hill had been "briefly detained by police" after being "pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium." He was released soon after and was able to join his teammates on the field later that day
